Spain are not only the defending Euro champions, but they're the defending World Cup champions as well. Despite a few recent struggles, they are still the best the world has to offer, and 15 other nations are out to finally knock them off their perch.

Euro 2012 features seven of FIFA's top 10 ranked teams, and the most dangerous challengers to Spain's throne are Germany and Netherlands.

But we can't sleep on likes of England, France or even Croatia. And this tournament is no stranger to upsets and underdog victories either—just ask Greece in 2004 and Denmark in 1992.

For the next 12 days we get nonstop football action from various venues in Poland and Ukraine before entering the knockout phase.

One thing we can always be sure of in tournament's such as this is to expect the unexpected.
